Xbox 360 Towel Trick - Does It Work?
If you are the owner of an xBox 360, I'm am sure you have experienced - or at least heard of the dreaded RROD problem - aka the "Red Ring of Death". This is when the 3 lights on the xBox console flash red and your game does not load.
A little internet browsing for a solution to this problem will show you some possible solutions - among them what is known as "the towel trick". It involves wrapping a few towels around your console, turning on the power and "baking" your system for 30 minutes or so. After that some spontaneous recovery was reported. Some people were so ecstatic they thought they experienced a miracle! Their machine came alive, ressurected from the dead! Well, lo and behold, their relief was short lived, premature and temporary. A few weeks later - or sometimes mere days or even hours if you were unlucky enough, and your xBox died again. Completely. Total Loss. Dead on Arrival.
So, does the towel trick work? Yes and No.
Yes - because in some cases consoles DID come alive for a short amount of time.
No - because ultimately is was only a temporary fix which brought total devastation in it's wake.
So should you use the Towel Trick? My honest answer - NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you really want to damage your xBox 360 so badly, just toss it out the window. But if you want to fix it, and you are still covered by Microsoft's warranty, send it back to them for a free repair at no cost.
If not, don't worry. You can fix your xBox yourself, it is really easy, even if you know nothing about electronics. I strongly recommend getting the Xbox 360 repair guide which includes easy to follow step by step video guides on how to disassemble and repair your Xbox 360, 100% guaranteed!
